Linda Grace Hickam Rodriguez - Mrs. Chi Chi
1944 - 2012
On Thursday the 17th of May, our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend, Linda Grace Rodriguez, lost her courageous battle due to complications from Cancer. Linda was born on January 24, 1944 in SLC, Utah and was the only child of Lycurgas "Bud" P. Hickam and Betty Ellen Peterson Hickam. She attended South High School where she met the love of her life Robert Frank Rodriguez. Linda graduated from Olympus High School, and after attended Steven Henagar's School of Business. Linda and Robert were married on August 25, 1962, and spent 53 loving years together. Linda is survived by her loving husband, Robert Rodriguez, and three daughters: Debra (Ronald) Slotboom, Lisa (Kelly) Bateman, Bobbie Jo (Dwight) Nichols, nine Grandchildren and eight Great Grandchildren. She was employed with Albertsons as a baker and retired after 30 years of service. Linda enjoyed spending time at the family cabin where she loved to feed the little animals and birds; she especially loved to feed the humming birds. She enjoyed doing all kinds of crafts. Linda had an incredible imagination that was almost as special as her obvious talent. Linda spent countless hours doing needlepoint, crocheting, and embroidering. Tole painting was her specialty; she would paint anything that did not move. Linda was able to bring new life to otherwise useless items with her painting. Her home, garden and cabin are filled with her work. Linda was a selfless wife, a wonderful mother, a great grandmother and a great friend to have. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 22 at 12:00 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah. Viewing to be held Monday from 6 to 8, and on Tuesday 11 am to noon, before the services. Linda's final resting place will be at Valley View Memorial Cemetery. Forever and Ever Together.
