William T. Kerr Mar 1870 - 18 Apr 1958 CHRISTIAN COUNTY REPUBLICAN 24 Apr 1958 p4. Contributed by Mabel Phillips.Mrs. A. H. Giehl and Mrs. R. R. Farthing received word last Friday of the death of their brother, W. T. Kerr of Oakdale, Calif. He was 88 years old. Mr. Kerr was a native of Christian County, having been born on a farm north of Ozark, the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Kerr. His brothers were J. A. Kerr, Dr. U. F. Kerr and Dr. H. L. Kerr. Survivors include his wife Eva; one son, Gene Kerr of Sacramento, Calif; three daughters, Mrs. Gladys Dick of Santa Cruz, Calif; Mrs. Belle Valentine of Delano, Calif. and Mrs. Lucretia Martin of Stockton, Calif. Mr. Kerr resided and was in business in Ozark for a number of years before moving to California with his family in 1904. He operated a Ford agency in Oakdale. After his retirement, his hobby was helping his community develop irrigation systems, planting highways with beautiful trees, establishing parks and gardening. His own home was beautiful bower of flowers and his vegetables and fruit were the best. Mrs. Farthing recently returned from a visit with her brother and sister-in-law at Oakdale.
